About the Role

mmw3degrees has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a newly created, Lead Print Buyer. We are looking for self motivated candidates with experience in commercial and digital print buying. You would be excited to join a fast-paced collaborative environment, your attention to detail must be exceptional and you would possess the drive to maintain and strive to ensure quality is met 100% of the time, while remaining within the budget. We are a market leader, however we are always ready to listen to fresh ideas that improve our client experience. Working closely with the team, you will be responsible for the management and administration of digital and commercial print purchasing, along with inventory functions within the business.

This role is predominantly direct purchasing and will include, managing pre and post commercial print processes, managing and onboarding preferred suppliers, and will require clear understanding of all facets of print finishing and paper purchasing. 

Working with internal, and if required, external stakeholders, ideally you will possess the ability to clearly understand written and verbal briefs, analyse what is required, assess and report on spends. You will hold an ability to embrace change, assist with development and growth of the department, look for ways to improve efficiencies, exploring alternatives to better manage the end to end print and print finishing functionality.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • The Lead Print Buyer will be responsible for managing the print procurement and part of the inventory function for the business.
  • Manage and work with suppliers for all pre and post print processes.
  • Assist with managing and onboarding preferred suppliers.
  • Work with the team to analyse current processes and assist with constant development improvements and efficiencies
  • Look for best practice in cost reductions.
  • Assist with exploring alternatives to better manage the end to end print management function.
  • Maintain and work with preferred suppliers achieve the highest level of quality.

Skills and experience

  • Preferred minimum 5 years experience in commercial print purchasing and paper stock management/inventory management in a medium size company.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding in the print production processes.
  • Quality control management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyse problems, influence outcomes and work effectively in a high pressure fast paced environment.
  • The ability to identify opportunities for cost saving and process improvement will be highly regarded.
  • A calm and professional manner is essential.
