Screen signs first L350UV order at Labelexpo

Screen GP Australia and its digital label partner Jet Technologies have enjoyed a very successful Labelexpo Europe, which closed in Brussels on 28th September.

“The highlight of course was the first public showing of two new models, the Truepress Jet L350UV+ and the L350UV+LM with low-migration inks,” says Peter Scott, MD of Screen GP Australia.

“Australian and New Zealand visitors were eager to check out the higher speed of 60 linear metres per minute and the potential in the food industry for low-migration inks. Of course, all of our existing L350UV customers are already enjoying success in food and beverage labelling; we now have a solution for more critical applications demanding low-migration.”

The first order for an L350UV+ was taken at the show, to Northern Ireland-based JH Label Solutions, part of the $20 million revenue James Hamilton Group. GM David Hedley cited reliability, productivity and high-opacity of inks along with wide gamut as the deciding factors in placing the order. Another UK label printer, Springfield Solutions of Hull, ordered its fourth Screen digital label press, the low-migration L350UV+LM model.

Jet Technologies’ Managing Director Jack Malki had to spread himself around Labelexpo owing to his company’s multiple leading agencies but was able to spend considerable time on the Screen stand with Scott.

He says: “It’s good to see the digital label press range expanding from Screen; inkjet is really making headway in labels and packaging now and we expect this to accelerate with the new models.”

Screen GP will be exhibiting at Visual Impact, Darling Harbour, Sydney from 11-13 October but due to space constraints will show the smaller L250AQ digital label press and will have print samples from the new L350UV+ and LM models.
