Intense industry focus will be centred on the joint DES & CyraChrome stand at the Visual Impact show at Darling Harbour today.

Marking the first public showing of the dominant digital proofing and colour management company, visitors to the show will be able to judge the breadth of the product range formed by the merger – announced on

Combining the two company’s strengths in signage and visual imaging, the new DES is demonstrating an industry-leading range of integrated digital imaging solutions. “It’s fair to say that no other company can supply such a broad portfolio of products taking in aqueous, solvent and UV solutions,” said Michael Laird, director of DES and former managing director of CyraChrome. “We have the ability to address the needs of all levels of the industry, from the entry level shop on the corner up to the large professional industrial companies.”

The proof is in the scope of the equipment displayed on the exhibition stand:

  • Octopus from Grappo–the popular large format solvent machine that has taken the industry by storm since being introduced by CyraChrome.
  • IPF Canon 9000 & IPF 7600;
  • Epson 7600; outputting to screen positive film, enabling screen printers to produce a silk screen via inkjet.
  • Eizo monitors, professional level LCD colour management device.

“One of the strengths of the combined companies is our ability to deliver quality colour management to the signage industry. As the industry becomes more professional I have people coming to ask how they can be more in control of their output,” said Michael Laird.

Although not on the exhibition stand DES is also promoting the newly released Agfa Anapurna, an industrial strength inkjet workhorse. Signage and screen printing was always a core strength of CyraChrome–but it’s firepower has certainly moved up a level because of the joint forces of DES.
