PacPrint defies the critics by filling up 90 per cent of available floor space with 150 exhibitors and more to come.

Given the grim state of the printing industry and wider world, many expected to see a lack of interest in PacPrint as more companies became concerned with controlling their spending.

But PacPrint 09 chairman, Alastair Hadley, reports otherwise, and expects the trade show to be the biggest yet.

"PacPrint 09 is already as large as any previous PacPrint, putting us well on track to presenting the largest PacPrint exhibition every held," he said.

Hadley noted that the industry’s larges players such as Heidelberg, Fuji Xerox, Muller Martini and GBC were among the first to finalise their involvement in the show, later followed by a flurry of smaller companies and newcomers keen to be involved.

"The attitude of all exhibitors is remarkably similar," Hadley said, "with virtually everyone expressing their view that PacPrint is a ‘must do’ for anyone involved in the industry."

According to Hadley, more than a hundred additional exhibitors are expected to join now and next May, bringing the total number of companies to 300.

"The PacPrint board has also retained an option to take additional space at the riverside exhibition centre should that become necessary," Hadley added.
