This new chapter expands the existing InDesign User Group community in Australia. Formed in 2004, the Sydney Chapter has over 500 members. The User Group is a community that is
independently managed and run by Adobe InDesign software users. The group
provides a forum for users to share, learn and grow their InDesign

Initially formed by users in New York, the community quickly spread to other
cities in the United States. Today, there are 23 chapters across the US,
Canada, Europe and Australia.

“I’m excited about the growth of the Adobe InDesign User Community,” said
Eliot Harper, the User Group’s Sydney Chapter Representative. “We are
continuing to see a significant adoption of InDesign in Australia and are
pleased to support this growth through the User Group.”

“Members regard User Group meetings a great opportunity to network with
other users and learn how to leverage the power of InDesign in their
workplace,” continued Harper.

The Adobe InDesign User Group’s Melbourne Chapter will be headed up by
Tricia Ho. “I’m encouraged by the interest in the User Group which led to
the launch of the Melbourne Chapter which will be responsible for the
support of the local InDesign community ,” explained Ho. “The first
Melbourne Chapter meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 6 December at RMIT
University Brunswick Campus from 6:30pm-9:00pm and will cover popular
InDesign-related hot topics and questions.”

“With Melbourne’s strong focus on leading edge design, publishing, fashion
and advertising, it was natural the InDesign User Group would open a chapter
in Melbourne,” said Michael Stoddart, Senior Sales Manager, Media and
Publishing, Asia Pacific at Adobe Systems. “Adobe welcomes the launch of the
Melbourne InDesign User Group and looks forward to supporting it and its
members as they continue to build on the strong InDesign community.”

Both the Sydney and Melbourne chapters run meetings throughout the year.
