Aimed at architects, engineers and service bureaus, the agreement provides Océ customers with the use of Epson’s colour imaging technologies. The agreement also includes Epson’s products being supported by Océ’s direct sales team and country dealer network.

“After initial discussions, both companies identified some key opportunities in which they could work together to create printing solutions that will drive more business for our customers,” said Craig Heckenberg, Epsons’s business unit manager business solution division. “One of those opportunities is supplying a cost effective colour option for Oce’s successful scan, copy and print solutions. Oce customers will now have the chance to experience high quality colour output that today’s top printing companies and professional photographers have experienced for years.”

Heckenberg said that Océ would even be selling Epson-branded equipment. “Océ is a trusted brand and the leader in providing complete drawing and plan printing solutions,” he said. “It has a well and established customer base with years of experience servicing the marketplace and is willing to collaborate with Epson on future projects.”

Océ will be purchasing a number of large format printers for Epson directly, which include: Epson’s Stylus Pro 4400; Stylus Pro 4800; Stylus Pro 7400; Stylus Pro 7800; Stylus Pro 9400; Stylus Pro 9800 and consumables such as Epson’s UltraChrome pigment-based inks and compatible media.

Michael Boyle, business group manager for Océ said that the partnership would provide customers with joint access to two established brands.
“We look forward to a long and profitable association with Craig and Epson,” he said.

Admitting that it’s still early days, Heckenberg is confident that the partnership will be well received by those within the architectural and engineering markets. “We expect that these types of customers will welcome the partnership because both companies have advanced technologies that when combined will deliver superior benefits to them,” he said.
