Jack Goodwin, a headline international business consultant and executive educator, has confirmed his attendance as a keynote speaker with a very specific goal in mind – connecting with knowledge to help improve the performance and profitability of printing industry companies.

Goodwin believes that instead of focusing solely on a production mechanism and leaving fate to market or economic conditions, business of all sizes must have a vision to work towards. He claims a vision opens a business up more to innovative ways thinking and decision making, cited as a preferable alternative to remaining preoccupied with production processes often beyond their control.

Goodwin’s expertise covers operations management, business strategy and organisational performance, his client’s including Heidelberg, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Hoechst Celanese, MCI, National Australia Bank, Nissan and Shell. He has also worked closely with universities across the world throughout his career, currently filling positions at the University of Witwatersrand in South and the Melbourne Business School in Victoria.

While Goodwin’s presence will prove to be a highlight of the Get Connected, the conference also promises content to meet the needs of business owners, management and production staff, with sessions to feature a wide range speakers, business and technical sessions and international presentations. Contributions are scheduled in from all eight member countries of the Forum of Asian Graphic Arts Technology (FAGAT), including Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

The Get Connected Conference will be held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney on the 16-19 of November 2005. For more information contact Joe Kowalewski at Printing Industries on (02) 9789 7300 email: joe@printnet.com.au/> or Bob Lamont at the LIA Ph. (02) 9876 4049 lamont57@ozemail.com.au>.
