Canon training arms Océ staff

Océ Australia sales staff undergo comprehensive training of the new Canon systems added to its colour production portfolio in North Ryde, Sydney.

The colour controller training session was provided for the Canon imagePRESS C7010VP and the imagePRESS C7010VPS. Around 20 sales staff drawn from all over Australia attended. Further sessions are likely for the future as new Canon products are introduced into the Océ range.

Damian Schaller, digital document systems marketing manager for Océ Australia, says an important part of the sessions involved interfacing the Canon products with the new PRISMAsync controller

“With a media based workflow from pre-press through to production, many areas prone to errors are eliminated. Colour presets and easy calibration procedures ensure colour consistency across jobs and reprints.

“Additionally, the controller’s unique job scheduler allows for uninterrupted printing of all jobs and the planning of print production to eight hours ahead. A popular feature for press operators is the ‘traffic light’ signal lamp that warns up to 30 minutes ahead of an upcoming intervention required, such as the need to reload media or empty a finisher tray.”

Stephanie Chaillaud and Chad Cook from Océ’s International Training Centre in Holland visited Sydney to run the training sessions.

It is important that Océ staff have a sound knowledge of Canon products and systems, so that they can assist print providers on its ever-expanding portfolio.

Schaller says only by learning what press operators and print shop managers come across throughout a working week can sales staff deliver true value when speaking to clients.

“The sessions included hands-on workshops helping our account managers and system consultants deal with real customer applications to assist with the challenges that print providers face on a daily basis.

Océ Australia offers a broad range of controllers for its colour production systems, including CREO, Fiery or it’s own PRISMAsync controller, which operate seamlessly with the Canon products.
