  • Heidelberg’s Women in Print 2014

    Registrations are now open for Heidelberg Women in Print 2014, kicking off in March. Now in its eighth year in Australia, this unique women’s-only industry forum ramps up its latest series of business breakfasts, fronted up by a keynote address from renowned speaker and leading health commentator Dr Sally Cockburn, TV and radio’s ‘Dr. Feelgood.’

    Heidelberg Women in Print provides an opportunity for all women working in the print and graphic media industry to network and to hear from leading women speakers. One of the most anticipated events in the industry’s annual calendar, Heidelberg Women in Print was established in 2007 with 290 guests turning out for the inaugural run of dinner and cocktail networking events. Numbers grew to 400 by the 2008, with nearly 500 women attending in 2011 and 2012.

    Dr Cockburn will share her personal story with guests, and open the floor a frank and free discussion about diet and exercise, touching on a range of complex issues like mother-guilt and “why many are too tired for sex.”Dr Cockburn is one of Australia’s leading health communicators. With over 30 years clinical experience, including six years working in public hospitals, she began her media career as ‘Dr Feelgood’ in 1990 when a patient invited her to take part in a radio program. Since then she has hosted a string of top-rated national radio talk-back shows discussing sex and relationships, including her debut ‘Pillowtalk’ for six years, and currently ‘Talking Health’. She has written articles and columns for national magazines, including New Idea, New Woman and Girlfriend, hosted a regular segment on Good Morning Australia on Channel 10 for nine years and published a bestseller ‘Dr Feelgood’s Thoughts on Sex and Relationships.’

    It’s where the brightest and the best of the better half of our industry will gather to snaffle cornflakes and toast, drink fruit juice and coffee and chart the future destiny of printing in Australia.

    The 7th Heidelberg Women in Print event series is slipping into a sunrise timetable for a power breakfast in capital cities around the nation. The increasing turnout at these popular events is expected to be even greater this year with the new format. The affairs have a justified reputation as great networking events for professional women who work in our male dominated industry.

    Celebrity speaker this time around may even bring her own breakfast cereals. Certainly she has experience in providing many of us with snacks whenever we fly.

    Carolyn Creswell runs Melbourne-based Carman’s Fine Foods, which wholesales muesli, muesli bars and most recently, a range of snacks for airlines Australia-wide and 32 countries internationally.

    The company came from small beginnings in 1992 when Carolyn Creswell, at age 18 bought the muesli business. Today, the company Carolyn started is a thriving business, with customers including Qantas, Coles, Woolworths and Lite n’ Easy.

    Carolyn’s way of running Carman’s has achieved recognition across a number of awards most recently Carolyn was named 2012 Australian Telstra Business Women of the Year, and also received the Commonwealth Bank Business Owner Award. Carolyn was also a finalist in the 2009 InStyle Women of Style Awards, 2008 Telstra Business Woman of the Year Award and the 2008 Veuve Clicquot Award. She was also named Ernst & Young’s “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2007.
