Sydney printer digitalpress celebrated its rebranding with the release of a 350-page cookbook titled Dish, with all proceeds going to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

“Part of the process of the transformation was to review our branding and introduce a look and feel that evokes the personality of our company,” says owner Theo Pettaras. The change from red to blue was a huge leap forward for us and we are delighted with how it has all worked out.”

The limited-edition cookbook, which features 86 recipes from 44 chefs and restaurants around the country, is digitally printed on Sovereign Offset paper donated by KW Doggett’s. It’s curated and designed by Kelly Shield, an ex-chef turned graphic designer and avid cookbook collector.

“This is a cookbook with class,” says Pettaras. “The innovative design features a raised spot UV cover with 352 pages of never-before-shared as well as more familiar recipes.”

Dish features favourite recipes from restaurants including: Sydney’s The Apollo, Longrain, Icebergs, Otto, Hubert, Porteño, Dead Ringer and Saint Peter; Melbourne’s plant-based Smith & Daughters; Canberra’s acclaimed Aubergine; and Adelaide’s Africola. Lennox Hastie of Firedoor shares his recipe for grilled marron with finger lime and native herbs, while Stanbuli head chef Ibrahim Kasif satisfies sweet tooth cravings with his recipe for rosewater milk pudding with watermelon granita.

Alongside their recipes, the chefs also share their favourite childhood memories around food.

Josh Niland of Saint Peter was one of the first chefs to get involved in the project and contributed two recipes: fish and chips; and almond meringue with white peach caramel. Niland has a special connection with the Starlight Children’s Foundation from when he was diagnosed with Wilms tumour, a rare kidney cancer, as a child.

“As an eight-year-old in hospital I was granted a wish that turned a terrible chapter of my life into one of my most memorable experiences. Starlight flew my family and I to the USA to watch the Chicago Bulls play – every kid’s dream! The trip gave us a chance to laugh and take a break from a stressful time in our lives,” says Niland. “For this, I am forever in debt to Starlight and any way I can give back, I will. Dish is a great way of sharing my love of food and the foundation with fellow foodies.”

Dish is available online and in selected restaurants featured in the book for $75 RRP.

Multiple award-winning digitalpress, based in the inner Sydney suburb of Waterloo, was established in 2005 by Theo and Kassandra Pettaras.

Wow, what a change – a move away from the angry/passionate red to an Aegean blue!

If I was still working there =( I would be relishing and embracing the change =)

Nice new look Theo and Kass
