FSC are running tailored programs to help the design industry understand the process and gain recognition as FSC-registered graphic designers.

Tuesday September 25 – Sydney

Tuesday October 9 – Melbourne

Who should attend?

Designers and artists involved with the preparation of publications, promotional material and packaging that will use FSC trademarks. Others involved in the preparing artwork and designs for trademark approval.

The course

This is a half day program intended specifically for people who are preparing materials that will use the FSC trademarks – either on-product labels or for off-product promotional use.  It aims to equip participants with sufficient knowledge of the strict FSC trademark controls so that after completion of the program they should be able to get trademark approvals right first time and every time.  Success in meeting this objective will save everyone in the system time and money.  If approvals need to go back and forth several times, that wastes time and sometimes deadlines are missed.  To provide recognition for people who complete the program, FSC Australia will list graduates on its web site as ‘registered graphic artists/designers’.

The program will include a deeper understanding of the FSC system; sources of FSC paper products; the role of FSC trademarks, the FSC Chain of Custody system, the meaning of different label options; how to apply different label options; using the FSC Brand Guidelines; the approvals process for labels; requirements for promotional use of FSC trademarks; promotional use opportunities and options; the approvals process for promotion use of FSC trademarks; relevant FSC standards and guidelines; specific instances and cases such as books.  This will be an interactive program involving case studies and small group exercises.  Class materials and refreshments will be provided.

The all inclusive costs for the program and a two year listing on the FSC Australia web site is $500. Discounts are available for group bookings, small (one person) businesses and FSC Australia members.
