Local distributers are offering free upgrades to Onyx 18 – the latest digital printing colour management software from Onyx Graphics – which just won the 2018 EDP Award for Best Colour Management software at FESPA.

Onyx 18 will be ready to ship on June 18, 2018. To purchase an Onyx 18 software license or to upgrade through the Onyx Advantage program, customers are advised to contact their authorized Onyx reseller.

Local distributors include Océ, Neopost, Spandex and Celmac.

“Onyx drives everything we sell, all the Colorados and Arizonas and others, and we see Onyx as the glue that holds all the workflow together,” says Gary Muratore, product manager, Graphic Arts at Océ Australia.

“We’ve seen a lot of interest in the Onyx 18 and we’re offering a free upgrade to any Onyx Advantage customers with current software maintenance agreements who place their order before June 18.”

Onyx 18, which was officially launched last month at Fespa in Berlin, includes new technologies for colour accuracy, consistency, and conformance to standards such as G7 and Fogra. Onyx software was also recognized as 2018 finalist for best Workflow Technology, Workflow Solutions as well as best MIS solution.

“Onyx Graphics raises the bar once again with Onyx 18,” said industry expert Jared Yoder of Spectrum Graphics. “It sets the standard for the next evolution in colour management tools and software. With Onyx 18’s newest colour engine, the impact in printing output is significant, yielding similarly to the impact HDR has had on the photography and television segments.”

The EDP awards are a judged by an expert Technical Committee from more than 21 trade publications covering 27 countries that reach more than 500,000 readers.
