A significant milestone for the penetration of digital printing technology into the industry was reached with the achievement of 150 digital colour presses installed in Australia. Snap Printing Gordon, a Fuji Xerox Australia customer for eighteen months, was delighted to accept delivery of it’s new DocuColor 6060. According to owner Mike Palmer, the business was looking for a new upgrade solution for its DocuColor 1250 to keep up with the increasing demand for short-run digital colour work.

After looking at a few other colour digital printers in the marketplace, Palmer picked the Xerox DocuColor 6060.

Snap Gordon’s client services manager, Cheryl Randall is pictured with the company’s new DocuColor 6060.

“The DocuColor 6060 met all the criteria we were looking for and more. The speed is fantastic, allowing us to turn our customers’ jobs around a lot faster. And the quality of the colour coming off the DocuColor 6060 is simply outstanding,” said Palmer.

Ultimately, Palmer said that the DocuColor 6060 will enable Snap Gordon to strengthen its variable data offerings to customers, while also giving the business some differentiation.

“The demand for high-quality digital colour from our customers is rapidly growing day by day,” continued Palmer. “Not only will DocuColor 6060 give us the ability to meet this demand, it also gives us a leading-edge out there in the marketplace.”

A magnificent achievement

According to Fuji Xerox Australia’s Production Colour Marketing Manager Henryk Kraszewski, the 150 sales mark represents an incredible result for Fuji Xerox Australia.

“Not only reaching, but surpassing, the 150 figure is a magnificent achievement for Fuji Xerox’s Production Colour team,” said Kraszewski. “It means the total print volume for Fuji Xerox’s Production Colour solutions has grown by an astonishing 92 per cent over the past year to over 110 million annually.”

“While Fuji Xerox has increased sales, our customers are also reaping the benefits with their overall digital production colour print volumes increasing over the past 12 months. It’s been a very successful year for Production Colour, with the division achieving great heights following on from the launch of the DocuColor 6060.”

Fuji Xerox Australia’s Graphic Arts Marketing Manager Brett Maishman (pictured) said that the accomplishment is “yet another milestone” for the company – testament to not only the huge demand for digital colour in the marketplace but also Fuji Xerox’s ability to meet it.

“We’ve been overwhelmed with the response to our business development activities, like ‘Profiting through Digital’. There’s no doubt that these activities have played a huge role in pushing up the number of digital colour documents printed on Fuji Xerox equipment to well over half a billion in the Australian marketplace this year.”
