Turbo-charged Nuvera 288

Visitors to Fuji Xerox’s PrintEx07 stand in Hall 4 will be treated to Australia’s first look at the just-released state-of-the-art monochrome printing system, the Xerox Nuvera 288 Digital Perfecting System prints at a staggering 288 impressions per minute, 15 percent faster than any other cut sheet printer available on the market.

During its maiden exhibition in this country, this digital duplex production system is set to impress with its unparalleled resolution of 4800 x 600 dots per inch – partly attributed to its pioneering Emulsion Aggregate (EA) toner technology and fusing. The Nuvera 288 was designed for maximum productivity and uptime, with Pass Through Programming that keeps the system running even if one of the engines needs service or a soft shutdown.

A fleet of innovations and solutions at PrintEx07
The Nuvera 288 is just one of a number Fuji Xerox Australia will be showcasing at PrintEx07. The industry leader will be focusing on innovative technologies and workflow solutions that help print providers and design professionals increase value and ultimately profits.

On show will be a number of unique solutions taking Fuji Xerox’s monochrome and colour light production ranges to new heights. The company’s direction in print technology and its quest to offer its customers a competitive advantage will underpin its impressive PrintEx07 showcase.

“We have a program of solutions never seen previously that will stop visitors in their tracks, which illustrate the many ways that our print and workflow solutions can be applied to their own businesses to make a bottom-line difference,” said Nick Kugenthiran, (pictured) general manager of Fuji Xerox’s Integrated Sales and Marketing Division. “By augmenting their skills with our technology and application expertise, PrintEx07 attendees can garner insight into new ways of amplifying print production efficiency and productivity, while providing increased profit margins through reduction in labour and increased asset utilisation.”

For the first time in Australia, Fuji Xerox will demonstrate how visionary standards such as JDF can streamline communication across the pre-press environment and the production floor. “Fundamental to developing optimum efficiency on the production floor in any print environment, is ensuring your business systems can communicate,” said Kugenthiran. “Fuji Xerox’s range of FreeFlow solutions will show how easily jobs can be seamlessly directed to either offset or digital presses as required in a few simple steps.”

Changing the face of digital print with innovative applications
Key to this year’s event will be several innovative applications developed by Fuji Xerox specifically for PrintEx07 visitors:

Get your Lonely Planet travel guide hot off the press
Fuji Xerox, Adobe and Typefi will partner at this year’s PrintEx Exhibition to create ‘a book in an hour’. Witness one of the guidebooks created in front of your eyes on this multiple stand tour. The journey will start at the Adobe stand where Adobe and Typefi take the book from design to composed pages using Typefi Publish and Adobe InDesign Server. Step two: the document and the tour will move to the Fuji Xerox stand where the new turbo-charged Nuvera 288 and the DocuColor 5000 will be driven by the FreeFlow Digital Workflow Collection to produce the colour covers and monochrome content pages. FreeFlow Output Manager will show off the ease of integrating colour covers with monochrome inserts and visitors will receive their own Lonely Planet guide literally hot off the press. Don’t miss the Book in an Hour Tour – commencing at 2pm at the Adobe stand everyday during PrintEx07.

Colour the young happy with a personalised colouring-in book
PrintEx07 attendees can create personalised colouring-in books for kids through a web browser using XMPie uStore and FreeFlow Output Manager. Featuring personalised covers and insert pages as well as a mix of colour and monochrome pages, the books will be created on the fly utilising FreeFlow colour splitter technology on the Fuji Xerox 4110 and the new Xerox DocuColor 252. Job attribute matching and print automation through FreeFlow Process Manager will ensure that attendees take away a special memento from Printex07.

What’s your superhero alter-ego?
Visit the Fuji Xerox stand at PrintEx ’07 to find out! Fuji Xerox’s cross-media capabilities will demonstrate an end-to-end cross media workflow incorporating web, SMS, print and email through applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, XMPie PersonalEffect and FreeFlow Output Manager.

The Superhero application will use HitList to provide powerful data profiling, analytics and data hygiene tools for direct marketing campaigns. Throughout PrintEx, Fuji Xerox will showcase this one-of-a-kind application that supports the benefits of integrated multi-channel marketing communications. And what’s more, visitors can take their Superhero memorabilia home when they leave the show.

Hot new products

Light by name–not by nature
Visitors to the Fuji Xerox stand will also be privy to a closer look at two new entrants to the Fuji Xerox digital colour light production family, the Xerox DocuColor 252 and the Xerox DocuColor 6075II.

Both the DocuColor 252 and the DocuColor 6075II utilise the same technology, with market leading image quality and ease of use. The new DocuColor 6075II boosts productivity by up to 20 percent over the DocuColor 5065, extending the colour print speed to 60 ppm.

Meeting the requirements of any customer, these production systems include RIPs from Xerox (DocuSP), Creo (Spire), or EFI (Fiery and Splash). These RIPs offer ease of use, sophisticated colour management tools, and support for variable data applications.

The new Light Production Finisher is the latest finishing choice offered by Fuji Xerox and includes hole punching, side-stitching and saddle-stitching, as well as V-fold capability, C-fold and Z-fold capabilities for mailings, and an interposer that allows pre-printed material to be incorporated into print jobs.

“The DocuColor 252 and DocuColor 6075II combine image quality, ease of use, productivity, reliability and affordability,” said Henryk Kraszewski, Fuji Xerox’s production colour marketing manager. “They will appeal to those looking to enter the fast-growing digital colour production market or who require high quality colour output at a reasonable price – specifically, commercial printers, quick printers, franchise operations, creative services, corporate and government print rooms, and colour-intensive office environments.”

And more …
The Fuji Xerox team welcomes PrintEx07 visitors to find out about these and much more at stand 814, PrintEx07, 24-26 May 2007, Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
