Colourcorp: sign and display printer now part of GJI Group

GJI has bought multi-award winning sign and display printer Colourcorp, and will continue to run it as a stand-alone business within its Group.

There will be no change to staff or location as Colourcorp joins the GJI business, which it describes as ‘a family of brands’, and includes GJI itself, a marketing services business, direct marketing specialist Colourwise, design studio Little Big Design, and Customology, a customer engagement business.

Quality asset: Marcus Emery, general manager, GJI Group

Marcus Emery, general manager at GJI Group told Print21 that, “Colourcorp is a quality asset. GJI has been looking to acquire businesses that are a good strategic fit. Colourcorp has a great management team in place, who will remain. We are excited to have the business on board.”

Colourcorp is 40 years old, founded in 1979, and owner Brett Shepherd was looking to focus on his other businesses, while GJI was looking for a sign and display printer for its growing business. Both companies are based in Brisbane.

Brad Wruk, general manager of Colourcorp will be staying with the business, as will all 27 staff, including the two award winning apprentices. Speaking to Print21 Wruk said, “Colourcorp has been doing very well. The deal is great news, it means we become part of a bigger group and will be leveraging the knowledge and business ideas of GJI.”

Colourcorp operates top line equipment including HP Scitex, HP Latex, and Fujifilm printers, along with Zund and Konsgberg cutters. Colorcorp was the first printer in Queensland to become an Ecobiz partner with the Queensland government.
