Located at the Ultimo TAFE, NSW, the centre has $900,000 worth of Canon technology and has developed a new course that will train students of all ages in elements of digital production. Taking a tour of the premises with industry associations LIA and JPE, it was pointed out that with the ever-increasing proliferation of technology, it is often impossible to keep up. But TAFE teachers still believe in the value of educating their students in working traditional offset printers. With the launch of Canon’s imagePRESS, the company has joined forces with the Ultimo TAFE to develop training courses for imagePRESS operators.

The highlight of the night was seeing the new Canon imagePRESS in action by Steve Brown (pictured). Then it was off to dinner to discuss the new partnership, and the passing ships, of course.
