The US-based educators and advisers to the graphic arts industry will be in Sydney in early October for the Australian leg of Innovate ’07, which will also visit Auckland and Melbourne. During their visit they will record an interview to be screened a week later at the PODi Application Forum.

They will join a stellar group of international and local presenters at the Forum that will include Rab Govil, president of PODi, Malcolm Auld, managing director,  MAD, Dr Philip Hadcroft, general manager, international operations, HPA, and Eliot Harper, production software marketing manager at Fuji Xerox Australia.

The happy conjunction of the two high-profile digital printing events in Sydney highlights the growing interest in on-demand and personalised digital printing. This is the third year Innovate has included Sydney in its regional itinerary, but the first time local professionals can attend a PODi Forum.

Organised by Garry Knespal of GASAA, the local chapter of the US-based organization will present two days on the ‘how’ and the ‘why’ of personalised printing. David Gradwell, formerly marketing manager of Canon, is currently assembling local case studies of successful campaigns along the lines of the recognised PODi files for use in Australia.

The half-day Innovate 07 will take place in Auckland, October 8; Sydney, October 10; Melbourne October 11.

PODi Application Forum is on October 16 & 17.
