  • More than 3 positions available
  • Printing Industry Slitting Experience required
  • Immediate, or New Year commencement

If you have experience operating roll fed Slitters as used in the label printing industry, we currently have three different positions available.

This gives you the choice of hours, (one is permanent afternoon shift Monday to Friday; one is permanent days Monday to Friday, and the other can be flexible 3 days x 12 hours).

These companies are all specialist Label Manufacturers that print self-adhesive labels on rolls for use wherever a label is required. This can be on food and beverage packaging, cosmetics; clothing tags just about everywhere a label is needed.

What is a Slitter Operator?

The self-adhesive labels are printed on large reels, (around 400mm wide). After printing these reels are cut to a usable width and length.

The job of the Slitter Operator is to load the large reels onto the Slitting machine, set up the rotary cutting knives to slit the labels to the required width, and then run the reels to the length required, followed by packing the finished label reels ready for dispatch to the end-user.

Here’s an example of a typical Slitting Machine working. (This is not the actual machine).

Operating a Slitting Machine can be very busy, and repetitive work. As a result, if you are someone that is interested in a lot of variety in your work, this is not for you.

But… if you are keen on a role that provides a permanent employment, then this could be a career that will be perfect for you.

If you haven’t already had experience as a Slitter operator, but have operated other printing equipment, have a solid work history, can be stand on your feet all day in a role that is very busy, this could be for you.

You will also need excellent attention to detail and be comfortable operating machinery that has fast moving parts, i.e. belts, cutting disks, (knives) and rollers.

Evidence of your ability to work as part of a team and your reliability will an important part of being considered for this position.

Sounds like you, then APPLY NOW with your resume and a short note, explaining your experience
