Novotel, Homebush Bay

Start Time

The LIA Industry Energy Review Night will focus on one of the most important issues for businesses across Australia with Phillip Lawrence, phd scholar discussing the energy impacts on the printing industry.

Energy has developed into one of the most important issues for all businesses across Australia. The topic of the night will be how printing businesses are dealing with their energy, efficiency and environment.

According to reports, over the last five years, energy costs have gone up by as much as 90 per cent. “Dynamic Voltage Power Optimisation, DVPO using Power Perfector systems has been widely used in printing sectors in other parts of the world for a number of years to reduce the inflow of electrical energy to a print firm as much as 15 per cent. The cost benefits and positive impact on the environment makes Power Perfector technologies a compelling story for Australian printing firms,” said Lawrence.

Lawrence has been involved in many areas of the printing industry over the past 35 years. In recent years he has followed academic interests in environmental issues, looking at how the technologies in the printing industry have changed its ecological performance over the last 20 years.

Currently, Phillip is a PhD scholar at Sydney University exploring environmental policies in the growth economies of Asia. He has recently spoken at conferences in Copenhagen, Barcelona, London and Auckland.
