Ascent Partners is a new business providing business sales, acquisitions and appraisals specifically for the Australian printing and graphic arts industry.

"Our aim is to fill the demand for a dedicated, industry-specific service created by those wishing to exit the industry, wanting to grow by acquisition, or requiring an independent, realistic business appraisal," said Richard Rasmussen, director.

Rasmussen has 27 years of experience in the industry, initially employed by Heidelberg in sales and management roles before working privately as a management and business development consultant.

Steve Thistlethwaite, former joint managing director of GT Graphics, Collingwood, praised Ascent for their work in assisting with the sale of his business.

"[Richard] delivered the process and time line he outlined in our initial discussions; he introduced only three qualified prospects from his data base and the sale was turned around in four months," he said.

"With his industry background, he was also able to easily converse with other printers on commercial matters, machinery and business operations."

Currently focussed on the Melbourne and Sydney demographics, Rasmussen hopes to extend Ascent to other states and territories throughout the year.
"We know the industry intimately – how printing companies operate, the machinery and systems they use, what vendors and acquirers are looking for, and how the market rates businesses," he said.
