Ricoh Australia has announced Andy Berry as its new managing director, replacing John Hall after his retirement last month.

Berry joins Ricoh after a stint as managing principal at Trivium Solutions and principal consultant at Second Road, and brings 25 years of printing industry experience to the role including numerous executive and management positions at Fuji Xerox Australia.

Kazuhisa Goto, MD Ricoh Asia-Pacific.

Kazuhisa Goto, managing director of Ricoh Asia-Pacific, said Berry will provide Ricoh with valuable expertise and a good track record of change and growth at an important time for the company. “Berry’s ability to lead with a clear vision backed by a unified team has made him the success he is today; his deep knowledge of global services and market trends will be integral in driving Ricoh forward in this age of the customer. At the same time, his energetic and results driven style combined with his customer centric approach will strengthen Ricoh’s transformational journey,” Goto said.

Former managing director John Hall retired at the end of last month, his sudden exit coming just days after a management shakeup at Ricoh’s Tokyo headquarters as the company reorients itself towards services. A printing industry veteran, Hall had occupied the position since May 2014.

Berry says he is pleased to join the Ricoh team, and says there are plenty of opportunities for the company in the traditional print market. “I admire the Ricoh approach to understanding the changing needs of its customers and how it then applies innovation. At the same time, the company balances the strength of its global scale with belief in the local team and the importance of their enduring relationships with customers, channels and partners. I am excited at the opportunity to lead Ricoh Australia and to help realise the talent and energy of its people,” he said.

Berry will be based in Sydney.
