Pantone has launched a new polyester swatch book in response to what it says is increasing demand for more saturated colours.

The Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors Polyester Swatch Book compiles 203 colour options in a single binder.

According to Laurie Pressman, vice president, Pantone Colour Institute, there is growing desire in the market for deeper levels of colouration as new inorganic materials come into the market.

“The story of the market today is one of material innovation, something which in turn is driving the market need for greater hue intensity and trend relevant colour beyond those formulated for natural fibres.

“Ranging from timeless foundational neutrals to vivid eye-popping brights, the colours in our new Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors Polyester Swatch Book were uniquely curated for polyester and cannot be reproduced in cotton with the same degree of clarity,” she said.

The swatch book features two-inch by two-inch loose-format poly swatches, dyed in fully warp-knit polyester. The swatches are removable, and arranged chromatically by colour family; each page features 35 colours.

The book complements Pantone’s Fashion, Home + Interiors cotton products, adding icher colouration that cannot be achieved easily in non-polyester materials, said Adrián Fernández, vice president and general manager of Pantone.

“Pantone is always looking for ways to ensure we are not only delivering on colour and colour management, but also ensuring our products are creating a seamless user-friendly experience for designers to achieve their desired look for their products.

“We are dedicated to continuously finding ways to create products that are versatile and offer the vibrancy of colour that they need across preferred material,” he said.
