Print technology developer EFI says its Win a Trip for Two to drupa 2016 promotion is aimed a starting a conversation with printers about workflow management solutions.

"We wanted to reset the agenda by getting printers to open up about their workflow management issues," said Mark Fletcher, associate marketing specialist, EFI APAC. "Smooth workflow where you touch the job as little as possible is what everyone is trying to attain but many printers are still struggling with the concept of Web to Print and we believe that drupa year is a good time to talk to them about the future."

The competition entry form includes the question: What are the 3 biggest concerns you have with your current print workflow?

"Web to Print is a significant step forward that does require planning and a partner and we believe that many printers have put it on the backburner for the time being," said Fletcher. "But drupa is a real milestone for the industry and whether people are going or not, a lot of decisions are made around or after drupa.  Many businesses tend to review what they're doing and start to think about where they're going during drupa year, so it's an ideal place to start the conversation. A lot of printers in Australia and New Zealand have been reluctant to embrace Web to Print and we want to show them how our Digital StoreFront can add value and cut costs."

The latest version of EFI's Digital StoreFront, a component of the EFI Productivity Suite, ensures that Web to Print solutions work seamlessly with the EFI MIS solution, said Fletcher. The EFI Productivity Suite is managed as a modular Suite of products and components, delivering certifed end-to-end workfows out-of-the-box, and also offers scalability.

"Web to Print is still under-utilised but drupa's all about the future and for those printers who are thinking about the future of their businesses, we have many knowledgeable people who can generate specific workflow solutions for our customers," said Fletcher.

The competition closes on 15 May 2016.
