Print21 PacPrint Escape prize-winners Celeste and Brent Halliday decided the timing was right to boost their WA signage company BK Signs with some of the latest technology on offer at the show.

The contest winners bought a Mimaki JV300-160 LX wide format latex printer that was on display at the Mimaki stand in Melbourne and signed a deal on a Neolt Electro Trim 150 cutting machine from the stand of  importer/wholsesaler Australian Laminating Company (ALC), through dealer Spandex.

“BK came on the stand, we had a chat and we expect to finanalise the deal next week,” says Aaron Hollingsworth, ALC sales/service manager, who described this year’s PacPrint as: “Fantastic, one of the most successful shows for us in recent years.”

Celeste Halliday says: “We were planning on just looking at the new machines and we didn’t go there with the intent to purchase. But the more people we spoke to and the more we saw of the technological advances, we decided our current Mimaki printer needed to be upgraded. It’s going to be really good for our business. We’ve been using Mimaki products for a long time now and they’re great.”

Celeste says she and her husband enjoyed their time in Melbourne. “It was really good, fabulous. We spent all three days at the show and it was interesting to meet the suppliers and make new business contacts.”

Brent and Celeste, who run Broome-based BK Signs, celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary during PacPrint, where they stayed three nights at the Hilton and attended the National Print Awards.

That's a wrap from Brent and Celeste Halliday.
