The magicolor 4650DN comes equipped with an internal, automatic duplexer which produces bold, two-sided documents whilst using 50% less paper. It also uses an enhanced paper crossing system that allows the printer to maintain 100% productivity whilst delivering highquality output.

The 4650 series features PageScope Direct Print which allows users to print XPS, PDF, JPEG and TIFF files directly from a USB flash drive, or to drag and drop files for time-saving direct printing options. It also features a flexible Gigabit Ethernet interface offering high-speed printing for any size workgroup.

With a sleek new design and a height of only 385mm, the magicolor 4650 series seamlessly fits into any working space. Also featuring a simple control panel for users to quickly navigate through the intuitive menu, the 4650 series is the perfect combination of style design and functionality. The 4650 series provides economical, advanced technology, unprecedented colour quality and outstanding productivity- all within an elegant design that will complement any office décor.

LithoTechnics Pty Limited, developer of Metrix(r), the award-winning automatic, intelligent job planning and imposition system, announced today that Metrix 3.0 has been released.

Rohan Holt, President of LithoTechnics, stated, "With printers facing ever greater efficiency and profitability challenges, it is imperative that job engineering – that is, job planning – take into consideration not only press time and consumables usage, but also actual production costs. Metrix 3.0 makes this possible for the first time. Metrix 3.0 can take hundreds of jobs – bound, flat, and/or folded – and automatically plan them across multiple presses and press runs. But here’s the important point: Metrix 3.0 finds solutions on the basis of the lowest possible production cost. It has been a dream of mine for quite some time to achieve this – and with Metrix 3.0 we truly have an automated and intelligent planning and imposition system that rationalizes print production."

Metrix 3.0 highlights:
Auto Plan: In addition to generating layouts that optimize one or more products on individual press sheets as Metrix has always done, Auto Plan calculates optimum product assignment across multiple presses and press runs, based on actual production costs.

Mac OS X support: Metrix 3.0 is available for Windows and Mac OS X.
Dynamic Barcodes: Metrix 3.0 can generate dynamic and product-specific barcodes used for automatic product identification, finishing specifications, and/or shipping and billing instructions.
Intelligent Drag & Drop: Metrix 3.0 drag-and-drop provides increased ease-of-use for layouts that require operator intervention. Dragged products automatically snap into position against the press sheet edges or other products on the sheet. This feature also enables instant step-and-repeat of products or groups of products.

The Metrix 3.0 family includes Metrix Commercial, Metrix Max, Metrix X-8 and Metrix X-80, targeted at different segments of the commercial print market. All editions are available on Mac OS X and Windows, and all automatically plan and impose flat, folded, and bound work as well as ganged work. All editions can import JDF and export imposed PDF. Select editions include Auto Plan, and export various forms of JDF for prepress and finishing. The entire Metrix family is available in English, German, Spanish, and French.

Peacock Bros. now exclusively offer "Sky-trax", an indoor positioning system that will track, record and monitor the activities of any indoor vehicles such as forklifts and pallet stackers.  Accurate up to 3 sq cm, this revolutionary system will greatly improve the performance and management of indoor vehicles in as they operate within your warehouse or distribution centre.  Initial installations have delivered a quick return on investment and dramatic improvements in operational efficiencies.

The Sky-trax system includes a server with software called OPSman which displays in CAD display format your warehouse with illustrations of your forklifts or other indoor vehicles that move in real-time as your vehicles move.  Sky-trax constantly records and gathers data such as distances travelled without a load, the amount of downtime for each vehicle and when and where impacts have occurred for recall and analyzing.

Using a patented optical image reader called Sky-I, mounted on the top of the vehicle and pointed upwards this tracking solution can determine the position, speed and direction of your vehicles by references to roof suspended Sky-Markers.  The Sky-I optical reader communicates with a vehicle mounted mobile computer such as an Intermec CV30 or Motorola VC5090 connected to any WIFI wireless network.

Sky-trax is completely independent with no ongoing access costs and can be fitted in dark, cold, hot or even exposed warehouses without any interference in operational accuracy. It can manage a single vehicle or your entire indoor fleet no matter what your warehouse or distribution centre layout is.

The OPSman software tracks the movements of all your indoor vehicles and produce reports on operational efficiency, downtime, heavy traffic areas and hazard zones.  An additional "breadcrumb" feature will show the areas of your warehouse that receive the most traffic so that you can adjust your work areas for maximum efficiency. Constant real-time monitoring without error ensures that your operation can track and trace vehicles and stock at any time and control your operations as the events occur.
