Print awards cut off extended

Entrants for the GASAA Printovation Awards 2011 have another week until 22 August due to requests from firms eager to submit their works.

According to Garry Knespal (pictured), executive officer of GASAA, with so many firms requesting more time to put together innovative entries, the committee made the decision to extend the date as to incorporate as many original entrant works in the Awards as possible.

A key federal government department behind the association, the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR) is promoting innovation in print through silver sponsorship of the Awards.

“It is great to have the support of The Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research in the lead up to the event, this will assist us in the promotion of innovation and drive for knowledge within printing industry through our Awards,” he said.

The Printovation Awards 2011 will be held in Melbourne on 13 September in conjunction with the GASAA PrintCom Expo 2011. Created to celebrate and recognise innovative creativity, the Awards honour high quality in print in the graphic arts industry. Enter here.

This year’s judges are: Scott Telfer- managing director, Southern Colour NSW, Marcus Piper- joint creative director, one8one7, James Cryer- managing director, JDA Recruitment, Jackie Connor- general manager, Digitalpress. Chairing the program is GASAA executive member, Theo Pettaras, Digital Press Sydney.
