Plunkett & Johnson have acted as distributors of QuadTech products in Australia and New Zealand for 17 years, and the new deal sees this relationship expanded, with the entire range of products brought under the one roof.

Following QuadTech’s buyout of its competitor PressTech two years, local distribution of the PressTech range was split between existing distributor Ferag and Plunkett & Johnson, for the newspaper and commercial sectors respectively. With Ferag relinquishing these rights, Plunkett & Johnson will now be responsible for distributing QuadTech’s entire portfolio of products.

Plunkett & Johnson sales director Steve Farrell claims the new agreement will make for a more effective representation of the QuadTech product range across Australia and New Zealand. “As both the newspaper and commercial markets merge, it made sense to draw both product ranges under the one umbrella,” he says.

QuadTech Asia Pacific manager David Mitchell praises Plunkett & Johnson’s established reputation in the local newspaper and commercial markets. “We feel that our customers will be best served by one supplier, and we are excited about expanding upon our long-term relationship,” he says.

QuadTech is a US-based company that specialises in press control technology and material handling solutions, and has facilities throughout Europe, Japan, China, South America, Singapore and India. It sells its solutions to the web offset newspaper and commercial markets across 85 different countries, and is a subsidiary of Quad/Graphics, the largest privately held printer in the world.
