Quark fightback fires up

The seminars will be held in conjunction with GASAA and aim to offer an in-depth look at the latest release of the seminal desktop publishing software. The events form part of Quark’s continuing campaign to claw back market share from Adobe and its newly dominant Creative Suite 2 package: which its QuarkXPress equivalent InDesign as well as Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and now Dreamweaver.

The free talks will demonstrate how users can get the most out of the new features that are included in QuarkXPress 7. These include precision transparency control for frames, backgrounds and single characters; compositions zones that allow more than one person to work on a single layout at one time; enhanced PDF creation and typography support; as well as Job Jackets technology for creating output specs for an entire project.

The seminars will kick off at 9:30am and run throughout October, stopping off at the following locations:

  • Brisbane: October 17, Brisbane Convention Centre
  • Sydney: October 18, Sydney Maritime Museum
  • Melbourne: October 19, Melbourne Exhibition Centre
  • Auckland: October 24, Hyatt Hotel Auckland
