As of this week, community issues will take precedence with other changes including: a news review page, a bigger sports section, new real estate pages, a full page eastern suburbs entertainment guide, more letters to the editor and increased social and fashion coverage.

"We’ve increased the news content significantly, whilst adding flair and personality throughout," said Cumberland Newspapers general manager, John Webster.

"Even though we have valued David Jones’ front-cover commitment to the Wentworth Courier … the paper will be able to tackle community issues more forcefully on page 1."

The redesign has been managed by editor-in-chief Bob Osburn and design editor Simon Mellick. "The new design, along with more individual stories throughout the paper means more views aired, community concerns raised and more action on issues that matter to our readers," said Osburn.

With an average of 300 pages, the Wentworth Courier has a circulation of 48, 000 copies distributed to 96,000 readers throughout Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
