Yarrow switches to thread start-up

Former APJ Kornit Digital regional vice-president, Andy Yarrow, is now regional sales manager Asia Pacific at Twine Solutions, a start-up digital thread colouring business.

Well known in Australia, Yarrow was with Kornit Digital for two years, overseeing the installations for the technology in Australia and the rest of the region. Prior to that he was Asia Pacific director of EFI for two years, after a decade with the company. Former HP Indigo general manager Alon Bar-Shany is now the active chairman of Twine Solutions.

Yarrow said, “ I’m happy to announce that I’ve joined Twine Solutions, an amazing start-up focused on changing the fibre of the textile industry. The fashion world needs to change its focus and become more sustainable, we will make a huge impact right at the start of the supply chain.”

Digital technology is enabling the return to Australia of fashion manufacturing and printing, thanks to the short-run on demand dynamic, and Twine Solutions will contribute to that by releasing companies from the need to buy in bulk.

Twine Solutions is a technology start-up developing a proprietary, digital thread dyeing system and digital dye to match algorithm based application. The technology takes in a continuous single white colour thread, and dyes the thread to any requested length and colour with millions of available colours and shades, as well as colour gradients.

Twine's DST (Digital Selective Treatment) technology enable thread dyeing on-demand and ready to use within seconds with high grade in a waterless, eco-friendly process. Twine's technology eliminates the long, messy, cumbersome conventional bulk dyeing. Twine eliminates the need for coloured thread stock, dramatically reduce logistic, dead stock and other waste costs.
