Charity racers launched of the starting point early 9am yesterday for a bush bash down to Warragul through dirt tracks and rough roads.

According to Car 15 driver, Currie’s Phillip Rennell, the tone of the trek was set when the first stop was at a winery. The third stop was at a pub with lunch in between.

“The first two days have been great, the weather has been beautiful and it looks very calm for the trip. But the back end of the week doesn’t look very promising. The car heater doesn’t work, and we are going to do some repairs on that in the morning, as it is a cold trip.

“Over the next few days we hope to get the last $800 over the line to meet our $25K target. We will be close to the top ten if we raise that much finds for charity.

“We are about to cross over to Tasmania, via the Bass Strait. We have been stopping off at a lot of schools distributing colouring books and pencils to match the ‘colour me’ concept,” he says.
