Gold Coast Publications, responsible for publishing the Gold Coast Bulletin and Gold Coast Sun community newspapers launched its new website

Roy Miller, managing director, said that Gold Coast Publications deliberately steered away from the conventional newspaper website model in order to target new readers and advertisers in a wider audience. “Beyond our circulation footprint we needed a brand that instantly communicates with the interstate and international browsers and advertisers,” he said.

Designed to deliver local news updates, community interaction, reviews, classified advertising, general information about life on the Gold Coast and features to book and pay for holidays, the site is aimed at both residents and tourists alike. “The Gold Coast is home to more than 500,000 people now so it needs a comprehensive, one-stop-shop website,” said Dean Gould, online business manager.

In less than a week of going live, Gould said that site traffic had almost doubled.
