Fuji Xerox Australia set to launch Fiery-driven DocuColor 8080 digital press for high-volume digital print production customers in September.

The Fiery powered Xerox EX Print Server makes the 8080 suitable for direct mail, collateral and personalized communications with colour critical and Variable Data Print (VDP) applications.

John Henze, VP of Fiery marketing at EFI, says it has added colour features and productivity-enhancing capabilities like native PDF workflow to the new 8080 press.

“With the combined strength of Xerox and Fiery technology, this press exceeds the challenges of today’s fast-paced, high-quality colour production environments.”

According to EFI, customers of demanding production environments can assure colour accuracy every time with this blend of Fiery technology and the Xerox Automatic Colour Quality Suite.

The EX Print Server introduces Fiery Image Enhance Visual Editor (IEVE), which allows printers to edit each image in a job without going back to the native design file, saving time and reducing costs.

IEVE gives users a manual control to individually adjust brightness, contrast, highlights, shadows, colour balance, sharpness and an automatic tool to make red-eye corrections on any image within a job.

The latest VDP technology incorporated in the EX Print Server allows VDP records to be previewed in the imposition stage, as well as the capability to easily reprint an individual record or a range of records if necessary.
