Xerox iGen4 reigns as business confidence sees surge in demand for high quality digital printing

Fuji Xerox Australia experienced one of its most successful months ever in October with more than 41 orders placed for a range of high-end production printing equipment. 

“There is no doubt that business confidence is improving and many organisations are ready to invest in print related communication initiatives,” says Simon Lane, (pictured) national manager of Fuji Xerox’s production services business.

“The newly released iGen4 is proving to be a highly desired solution in the market”, adds Lane.  “Since its launch a year ago, we have installed a Xerox iGen4 Press every month with the total installs stretching across Australia from Sydney and Melbourne to the West Coast.  In fact, the total iGen program has been instrumental in the rapid growth and development of digital print and approximately 375 million pages have now been produced on these engines alone.  We currently have 41 iGen3 and iGen4 units installed in Australia, many of these as multiple installs in single locations; a clear sign that the product is not only meeting, but exceeding expectations for high quality colour printing.”
Fuji Xerox Australia’s customers have been equally enthusiastic about the new opportunities offered by the iGen technology and comment positively on how the solution has helped them to build and grow their businesses.

Michael Lindley, director of the Kwik Kopy Fitzroy and St. Kilda Rd stores and Collingwood Print Group in Victoria, says that they invested in the Xerox iGen4, specifically to support their photo book customer,  “The iGen4 has been crucial to the photo book business which was launched a few weeks ago.  Already business is booming. The quality of the iGen4 is superb – a definite requirement when producing memory books and other photo gifting items.”

The Xerox iGen4 has also allowed Collingwood Print Group and the Kwik Kopy stores to transfer other short run print requirements such as presentation folders and variable data and image marketing pieces as a result of its faster print speed, high quality and colour matching capabilities. 

On the West Coast of Australia, QDi Direct Press, invested in a Xerox iGen4 only two months ago and have already seen a significant growth in the demand for digital printing.  Dave Whitlock, New Business Manager, says that the knowledge, support and back up from Fuji Xerox Australia were the deciding factor in their purchase decision. “It was important that our partner of choice could provide us with the support and know-how that we require to service our high end clients in the design, advertising agency and corporate markets.”

Dave says the demand for printing on the iGen4 has opened up a new world of opportunities.  "We will continue to add to our already extensive selection of applications which include annual reports, variable data applications, calendars and posters."
Simon Lane says that Fuji Xerox’s digital production presses have changed the business of printing.  “Print providers are looking for solutions to help them increase print revenue and decrease overall operating costs.  The increased productivity of the iGen4 coupled with the automation of operator tasks means the iGen4 has improved the break-even point between digital and traditional offset printing – making it faster and more economical to print jobs on digital. We predict digital print will grow significantly next year as consumers increasingly demand high quality traditional applications plus take advantage of emerging opportunities such as photo gifts, calendars and personalised greeting cards at fast turnaround times.”
