Public transport to the drupa expo will not be included in the entry ticket this time around, with visitors encouraged to buy multi-day passes either online in advance, or from the machines at stations.

Tickets available to buy include the 10er ten trips ticket for €26.5, and the 4er four trips ticket set for €12.5. Click here to buy online. Alternately you can buy a day pass for €8.50, or single tickets. All are available at machines.

You need to validate (stamp) the tickets when you get on a bus, train or tram, you will see the stamp machines. Large fines apply if you have not stamped your ticket.

The tickets are valid for U-bahn tram system, all buses, and the S-bahn trains, provided they are within the correct zone. The Messe centre, the Aldstadt, and all of Dusseldorf is Zone A.

Trams to the Messe Centre are U78 and U79 which depart Hauptbahnhof (main station) every few minutes. The U78 goes to and from Messe Nord, the U79 goes to Duisburg, but stops at Messe Ost, which is a ten minute walk to the fair entrance. Trams are the fastest transport option to and from the fairground.

The bus is the 722 from the main railway station to the south (Sud) entrance. Bus 896 runs between the airport and the Messe Centre.
