CMYKhub has made the biggest order ever taken in Australia for Canon Colorado roll-to-roll printers, deciding to re-equip all its print sites with the Colorado M5W series.

Australia’s biggest trade print operation made the order at drupa with local representative Currie Group. It will begin upgrading with the Colorados in the next few months, and will roll them out across its multiple sites.

Alan Nankervis, national wide-format manager at CMYKhub said, “We have been running a pair of Canon 1650s for a couple of years, which have been excellent. Now we want to bring that level of quality and turnaround time across all sites.

“Demand is increasing from our customers, and with the new Canon Colorado M5Ws, CMYKhub will be able to provide the speed and quality that our customers will benefit from. The instant drying of Colorado helps that rapid turnaround.”

CMYKhub is operating on two-day turnaround times maximum for its roll-to-roll display print.

The Colorado uses Canon’s exclusive UVgel ink technology. Nankervis said, “The UVgel ink on the Colorado gives real pop, and it will mean our customers can give their customers attention grabbing display print.”

Colorado M5W prints at up to 160sqm a hour in four-colour plus white, and can print a gloss or matte finish.
