The new business will be based in Melbourne, with a nationwide footprint, and service engineers located in Victoria and NSW. It will supply and service its solutions itself, and Zünd solutions also remain available through Canon Production Printing, the aim is to further strengthen the cooperation.

Hawkins said, "Being associated with the Zünd products in Australia for 15 years, I am excited to head up Zünd Australia. We are currently in the process of establishing a team of highly experienced technical personnel along with a new headquarters in Melbourne."

With Zünd Australia, the Swiss company says it will further strengthen its market position in the country, and open new areas of application in the medium term.

Oliver Zünd, CEO of Zünd Systemtechnik AG, said, "With Zünd Australia, we can support our existing and new customers directly and competently. The close cooperation with the new branch allows us to strengthen our market position in Australia. Zünd Australia enables us to continue to offer our Australian customers the best possible care in the long term. The team on site has a lot of experience with our cutting solutions. This will enable us to further improve advice and customer service."

The Zünd S3 and G3 lines are the most popular Zünd cutters in the ANZ print industry, and both will be on show at drupa. Local printers can contact Hawkins to arrange a time on the Zünd stand at drupa, either with him or Lars Bendixen.

Hawkins said, "Zünd provides quality cutting through its quality engineering, the machines are known for their longevity, there are some in ANZ that have been in operation for 20 years, and Zünd is also known for its software expertise. Cutting can be a complex process, Zünd has invested heavily in software to ensure that as far as the operator is concerned it is straightforward."
