Big Image Australia: celebrating with a ‘From the Fire to the Future’ theme and the support of customers, supply partners and friends

Big Image Australia: from Fire to Future

By | November 6, 2026

Big Image Australia has officially showcased its newly rebuilt and expanded 2600m2 facility in Greenfields, South Australia, marking a major comeback nearly six years after a devastating fire destroyed its original Hindmarsh factory on Boxing Day, 2020.

The open day, themed ‘From the Fire to the Future’, was attended by customers, politicians, friends and supply partners. The event featured a display of printing and finishing technology, dedicated staff, and displays of the diverse range of products Big Image Australia produces.

Following the 2020 fire and nine months in temporary accommodation, Managing Director Deon Capogreco relocated the business to a 1500m2 in Green Fields.

The support of the sign industry remained unwavering throughout the difficult period following the fire. Business flourished once the company had settled into its Green Fields premises and it soon outgrew the facility. Fortunately, new warehouses were built on the same site in 2024 and Capogreco was able to add a 1100 m2 warehouse next door.

The expanded operation includes significant investment in automation, with online ordering and automatic file preparation streamlining production. New equipment includes a 25m Miller Weldmaster PVC welding machine, a second 3.2 x 3.2m digital cutting table, and dye-sublimation fabric printing technology.

Big Image Prints open day: (l to r) James Gleeson (HP), Aran Kilpatrick (Graphic Art Mart), Mark McInnes (Graphic Art Mart), Deon Capogreco (Big Image Australia), John Fulbrook MP (Member for Playford), Carlo Capogreco (Big Image Australia), Richard Lucas (HVG), Paul Gerasolo (HVG), Liam Simmons (The Shann Group).

The company has also launched several eco-friendly and outdoor product lines, including honeycomb board structures, gazebos, umbrellas and flags.

Addressing the guests, Capogreco explained that the business was founded on the principle of keeping production local to South Australia. Big Image Australia provides trade printing services to the sign and graphics industry, helping eliminate interstate shipping delays and losses while enabling local businesses compete on a national scale.

He also encouraged customers to regard Big Image Australia as their own ‘offsite workshop’.

The open day was a resounding success, with guests taking the opportunity to mingle and network while enjoying a selection of delicious food and drinks. Many stayed well beyond the official close of the event, continuing conversations and strengthening industry connections.
