Brand says there's good bargains to be had at the auction, with major items up for grabs such as:

  • Kongsberg XL-22 Cutting Table
  • Graffica 1650mm Clamshell
  • Fujifilm UVI-Star 5 metre
  • Durst Durst Rho HS 800
  • HP Latex 260
  • Epson Stylus Pro 11880
  • Eterna 1620 Flat Bed Auto-platen
  • Heidelberg Cylinder die-cutter
  • 6 x Forklift Trucks

"It's only in four or five years that a large format digital auction comes along, as opposed to commercial offset printer auctions," said Brand. He says that so far, there have been a number of inquires from Queensland.

"We are reasonably confident that the equipment will sell within Australia and be bought by local companies."

The auction is a sign of the times in a changing world. Brand, who has been in the printing industry for over 30 believes that in the short term there will be a rationalisation in the industy post-Covid.

"But this is nothing new," he said. "As printers we are reinventing ourselves almost every year, asking what we can do differently."

Most of the equipment can be inspected at Active Displays, 7 Miles St in Mulgrave, and others at Concept Displays, 29 Northgate Drive inThomastown.

Bidders can register on the Gollant Auctioneers website with bidding already underway.
