Third quarter figures for Agfa showed revenues in its printing operations on the rise, although group EBITDA fell by four per cent year on year to €74m, on group sales that rose by 8 per cent.

Third quarter revenues are up to €474m from €439 million in Q3 last year, but the group posted a net loss of €17m once restructuring costs and taxes are taken into account. For the first nine months of this year, total revenues at Agfa are up to €1.36bn from €1.27bn.

Digital Print and Chemicals division saw revenue up from €82m in Q3 2021 to €96m, driven by ink sales for graphics, as well as wide format printing equipment sales.

Agfa signed its first Inca contracts in August, for printers which will come with ink and software it will supply.

Offset Solutions saw modest but welcome gains, with revenue up 3.3 percent year on year €199m from €192m, although much of the rise was due to currency effects and price rises.

However gross profit margin improved to 23.4 per cent from 19.3 per cent last year, mainly thanks to Agfa increasing its prices.

Agfa’s Offset Solutions business is going through a sale process, which it expects to complete In the first quarter of the new year. It will not affect Australian supply or distribution, which will continue as before through Agfa ANZ.
