According to Canon the “user-friendly design” of the printer enables even first-time users of large format printers to “easily create” large format copies for a wide variety of applications without a computer.

The imagePrograf TC-20M can print a wide variety of large format applications, such as promotional posters for retail stores and restaurants, educational materials for schools and original wrapping paper, up to A1+ in size.

In addition to usual network and computer printing capabilities, users can preview, copy and enlarge A4-sized JPEG and PDF documents using the printer control panel, by importing files directly from a USB flash drive, helping to eliminate errors and the need for a computer.

The space-saving design of the imagePrograf TC-20M allows users to easily perform all print-related operations from the front of the unit, including the paper setting (roll or sheet) and loading, ink refilling and removing prints. Large-capacity, 70 ml ink tanks result in less frequent refilling with the four-colour pigment inks, while the different colour and shape of the inlet on each tank prevent refilling with the wrong colour.

The printer supports rolls of paper up to A1+ wide and is equipped with a standard auto sheet-feeder compatible with A3 and A4 paper. Rolls and sheets of paper can be loaded at the same time, allowing users to copy and print various sizes on one machine by selecting the chosen paper source on the operator panel. A “repeated copy” function allows users to repeatedly copy a single document on a roll of paper up to A1+.

Yoshinori Moritaki, general manager Product Marketing at Canon Australia comments, “Traditionally, large format prints were an application that several retail, education and hospitality businesses often outsourced. However, increasingly users are in need of fast printing on demand, with the rise of shorter turnaround times. Designed with ease of use and space saving in mind, the imagePrograf TC-20M incorporates a flatbed scanner, eliminating the need for a computer and allowing users to perform all print and copy functions directly through the operator panel.”
