Fujifilm investing $25m on new inkjet inks plant
Imaging giant Fujifilm is investing some US$19m on a new facility to develop and produce water based pigment inkjet inks for global supply.

The new project will be developed on its Fujifilm Imaging Colorants (FFIC) Delaware site in the US, which is one of the world’s biggest aqueous inkjet manufacturing sites. It will be used for worldwide supply. Fujifilm pigment dispersals are currently manufactured in Scotland. The two sites will work in tandem.
Construction will begin next month, with completion slated for next year. By adding the new production plant for pigment dispersions – the main colourant on water based pigment inkjet inks – Fujifilm says it will be able to produce “consistent, fully featured, water based pigment inkjet inks” built with its own core dispersion technology.
The new US new production facility will manufacture pigment dispersions using Fujifilm’s own RxD Reactive Dispersion knowledge.
