FUJIFILM TO SHOW REELFED INKJET AT HID

Fujifilm’s new continuous feed inkjet Jet Press 1160CFG will take centre stage at its stand at Hunkeler Innovationdays next month.

Running under the ‘Connect’ theme, Fujifilm will partner with several vendors to demonstrate the full capabilities of its inkjet solutions.  

The new Jet Press will be shown working with Hunkeler finishing kit, including the CS8 Dynamic Cross Cutter with LS8 Long Stacker, to produce postcards live at the show, as well as a Hunkeler RW8 rewinder.

Fujifilm will also take part in a joint demonstration with bookbinding kit manufacturer Meccano Tecnica’s Universe automatic folding and book sewing machine, to demonstrate how the Jet Press can be used for short-run book production.

 It will also run with Horizon’s StitchLiner machinery to highlight instant-switch production.

The Jet Press 1160CFG prints at 8-bit configuration with up to 1,200x1,200dpi image density from a twin engine printer. In speed priority mode, the machine can print up to 160mpm at 1,200x600dpi. It handles stocks from 64 to 250gsm, on 152.4mm to 520.7mm width reels.

The press is equipped with a newly developed Paper Stabiliser, designed following “vigorous” R&D and analysis of paper characteristics during high-speed continuous feed printing, in addition to Fujifilm’s long-standing heritage within inkjet printing. According to Fujifilm the conditioning unit enhances productivity, production efficiency, and print and finishing quality by regulating the amount of moisture in the paper before printing. With the enhanced drying technology, the press delivers high-speed printing of 80 metres per minute – on thick and thin coated papers. 

Fujifilm will also show integrated inkjet technology, including the 42K Printbar and Mini 4300 Printbar engines, which can be attached to or replace analogue print engines.
