PLOCKMATIC LAUNCHES BM4000 SERIES
Plockmatic Group has launched the BM4000 series of booklet makers, now available through Renz in Australia.
Described by Plockmatic as a versatile booklet maker designed to work with low to mid volume digital production printers, the BM4000 series produces A4 landscape or large format 297mm x 297mm booklets, and has all the key processes needed to produce corner and edge staple, folding, spine forming and full bleed trimming, plus the option of the unique SquareBack finish.
“What is exciting is the wide range of beneficial features packed in this latest generation," said Chris Toll, regional sales manager - ANZ and Asia. "A4 landscape books are in demand, along with smaller A6 books or corner stapling – we were able to build these capabilities in a smaller footprint than our earlier version, with the same build quality Plockmatic is known for."
The BM4000 Series can staple and fold booklets of up to 140 pages (BM4035) or 200 pages (BM4050). It delivers booklets of "exceptional quality" and offers the ability to produce the new long sheets applications, while maintaining the small and compact size. The set positioning mechanism enables the operator to "easily adjust" the staple and fold position on the fly.
Booklets of up to 200 pages can be either hand fed in the most basic configuration or fed by the Plockmatic VFX high-capacity dual bin feeder. Another option is the Crease and Side Trim module (CST), which allows full bleed production with no need to side trim sheets on the guillotine prior to production.
The system supports printed sheets of up to 660mm long sheets (without the CST creasing and side slitting module) or 620mm (with CST). Bar code reading can also be added to the feeder to ensure set integrity or for variable data or variable sheet count booklets.
A completely new design, the combined square folding and face trimming unit has been produced in a single compact module.
The BM4000 series' high performance quality square folding functionality ensures a high-quality booklet on a wide range of media and booklet thickness.
The high-capacity belt stacker is a practical option for more production-oriented sites. It can be configured straight or in a 90-degree angle and attaches after the standard output tray. This allows for long unattended runs and stacks up to 1000 A4 booklets of four pages.
