REACON BUYS MMW3DEGREES

Marketing services business Reacon has acquired mmw3degrees, the specialist direct mail and data-driven communications service provider that was suddenly placed into voluntary administration at Christmas.

Reacon acquired the business at the conclusion of the second creditors meeting, held under the auspices of Helm Advisory at the mmw3degrees Sydney headquarters, and says it is now ‘poised to lead omni-channel data driven communications in Australasia’.

Plenty of eyebrows were raised in the industry when mmw3degrees was placed into administration just six weeks after Jennifer Slarke, the ex-wife of the late owner Laurie Griffiths, became company director. Griffiths passed away 18 months ago. The company has 40-50 staff.

Commenting on the acquisition, CEO of Reacon, Jahangir Khan, said, “Today ushers in a new dawn for Reacon, boosting our stronghold within the omni-channel marketing domain in Australasia. Not only will mmw3degrees enhance our direct mail distribution and production capabilities, but also bolster our digital, data-driven communications and fulfilment services offering.

Reacon is part of the same Bridgestone Holdings group that bought Theo Pettaras’ Digitalpress in September 2020, and then merged its Indigo and Copiworld business with it into a North Sydney location.

Khan, who is also CEO of Bridgestone, said, “Together our mission will be to create a great place for people to work, act responsibly to assist local economies, innovate to create new channels, products and partnerships to support our clients and suppliers across the markets we serve”.

Reacon says it offers ‘world-class’ marketing execution services partnering with global brands. It says the addition of mmw3degrees to the Reacon group will benefit existing and future clients ‘who will now enjoy an expanded product offering, centred around technology innovation, regional production and fulfilment capabilities, measured against the highest international standards to deliver superior omni-channel campaigns’.

Reacon says it will 'look to build on the strong workplace ethos of mmw3degrees with a view to improving stability and control by emboldening key staff to work towards a better client experience'.
