Return of Fespa BBQ welcomed by industry
With restrictions lifting in Victoria, the Fespa Australia's annual BBQ on Wednesday night was warmly welcomed by the industry, with 60 printers enjoying a convivial evening.
Held at Melbourne's Richmond Rowing Club, overlooking the Yarra, the BBQ saw industry professionals enjoy the networking, camaraderie, and food and beverages on offer.
"Our industry thrives on these face-to-face business connections and friendships, which we were starved of during the long lockdown in Victoria. However, most of us made up for lost time on Wednesday night,” said Nigel Davies, president, Fespa. "It was a pleasure to be amongst the enthusiasm throughout the evening - a good start to what we hope will become our new normal."
The event saw some welcome additions to the crowds, “As a new member to Fespa Australia, I had a great night and enjoyed it very much. I met a whole host of people, and felt very welcomed,” said Daniel Watts of Pattern Room.
“This is the first time I attended this event and there is no doubt that a great night was had by all,” said Ben Eaton from Starleaton. “Great to connect with so many whom I haven’t seen for over two years."
“After so many challenges over the last couple of years, it was especially great to see each other again and meet with people from all parts of the industry to hear their news and share their stories,” said Matt Ashman, Durst Oceania. “If this BBQ was anything to go by, then I can’t wait to attend the next event in Sydney next month.”
The sponsors of this event were Cactus Imaging, Durst, Mulford Plastics, HVG Graphics and Kissel & Wolf. Kissel & Wolf supplied the personalised stubbie holders for all guests, a perfect accompaniment for keeping the beer cold on a warm night.
The Fespa Sydney Social is scheduled for Wednesday 16 March, at the Sydney Rowing Club. For more information and to register click here.
