SCREEN LAUNCHES NEW INKJET FOR COMMERCIAL
Screen is launching a new roll-fed digital inkjet press, the Truepress Jet 560HDX, aimed squarely at the commercial printing, direct mail, and publishing printing markets.
It will run paper reels up to 560mm at speeds up to 150 metres a minute with a resolution up to 1200dpi, it is Screen's widest inkjet yet.
The Jet 560HDX is compatible with Screen’s new high optical density inkset, SC2, which enable sprinting directly onto offset stocks with no pre-treatment necessary. According to Screen SC2 inks produce “high vibrancy inks with dense and neutral blacks”.
Screen says the new drying system, which it describes as high-efficiency, intelligent drying, makes it possible for substrates with high ink densities to be dried efficiently, enabling wide gamut printing on a wide range of papers.
It has a newly developed fast-start operating system, which according to Screen, “ensures flawless integration with both pre- and post-finishing equipment”.
The Truepress Jet 560HDX comes almost two decades after Screen launched its first inkjet system, the Truepress Jet 520. The new 560 HDX will be launched on the show floor at drupa.
