ECO3 partners with NELA to integrate automated plate handling and pre-press logistics into ECO3’s next-generation connected print production platform.
ECO3 and NELA partnership extend the capabilities of its upcoming APOGEE IQ platform into automated plate handling and pre-press logistics.
NELA supplies automated plate handling, bending, sorting and logistics solutions for offset printing operations, while ECO3 provides integrated prepress systems for commercial, newspaper, packaging and label printers.
Announced in September 2026, APOGEE IQ is ECO3’s next-generation platform designed to connect business systems, production equipment and operational data within a single print production environment.
ECO3 says integration with NELA will connect production planning with plate validation, tracking and delivery, helping printers reduce manual processes, minimise errors and improve visibility across the plate lifecycle.
Tobias Lerch, Director of Hardware and Software R&D at NELA, said the partnership combined NELA’s plate automation expertise with APOGEE IQ’s workflow capabilities to help printers optimise operations, reduce waste and improve pressroom performance.
The agreement further expands ECO3’s APOGEE IQ partner ecosystem, which includes Adobe Print Services, Bodoni colour management tools and a recently announced collaboration with PlanProphet.
Arnaud Becuwe, Global Head of Software at ECO3, said the company was developing an open automation platform that brings together technologies from industry partners to create more connected and efficient production environments.
The NELA integration is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
