Harris to leave Visual Connections after a decade
Jenny Harris, who has been events manager at suppliers' association Visual Connections for more than a decade, will be moving on in mid-February, to focus on her family and personal priorities.
Harris has been an integral part of the organisation’s events team, first at the Visual Industries Sign Association, working on the Visual Impact Expos and, following that organisation’s merger with the Graphic Arts Merchants Association in 2015, for Visual Connections.
This expanded her remit to include the PacPrint, PrintEx and the Label & Packaging Expos, and she has also been pivotal in the organisation of the annual Asga / Fespa Australia Awards and Conference and, more recently, the Printing Industry Creativity Awards and the 38th National Print Awards.
“Events organisation is challenging at the best of times, with endless details to be arranged, confirmed and executed for each and every aspect of each and every event,” said Peter Harper, CEO of Visual Connections, “but Jenny has handled it all with aplomb, often working what seemed like miracles to ensure it was ‘alright on the night’."
The last two years have been particuarly trying for the entire events industry, with a raft of cancallations and multiple postponements as Covid bit across the country, and the world.
Harper said, “Everyone who has worked with Jenny over the past 11 years – her colleagues, our members, partner venues, contractors, exhibitors and visitors – have appreciated her professionalism, flexibility, warmth and humour, particularly over the past couple of years which have seen enormous pressure put on our team and everyone in the sector.
“We thank Jenny most sincerely for her outstanding contribution to Visual Connections and to our industry. We will miss her, and wish her nothing but happiness and success as she takes some time to concentrate on her most important priorities and pursue new interests and opportunities.”
