CLEAN ENERGY CEO IS FESPA SPEAKER
Sustainable business expert and former deputy Lord Mayor for the City of Melbourne, Arron Wood, will be the keynote speaker at the Fespa Australia annual conference in November.
Wood now leads a team of clean energy policy experts as the chief policy and impact officer for the Clean Energy Council, which is dedicated to helping drive Australia towards 100 per cent renewable energy. He was named among the Top Ten Education Leaders nationally in 2009 by The Weekend Australian Magazine.
In 2020, he was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to local government, to the environment, and to the community. Fespa said, that as the 2007 Prime Minister’s Environmentalist of the Year Award winner, he speaks passionately about the need for Australian businesses to be at the forefront of the new green economy to secure the nation as an environmental knowledge and technology leader.
He is advising 700 local government executives from around the world on how to see sustainability as an opportunity, and speaking at the National Business Leaders Forum on 'Re-calibrating the Risk From Climate'.
Wood is the founder and managing director of Firestarter, an environmental communication and education consultancy business, and he initiated and runs 'the Kids Teaching Kids Program' for students from around the world, which has attracted $30m in funding over the life of the project (single-handedly raised by Wood) and seen 135,000 students participate.
The Fespa Annual Conference will take place on 3 November at the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney and will bring together leading industry experts, suppliers, business owners and future leaders for a programme “packed with exceptional” presenters, interactive panel sessions, and global live streaming.
